Who the hell are you?
Glad you asked! While actually browsing my work (Check the "Projects" menu) might give you a better idea of what I'm all about, in a nutshell, I consider myself a hacker (in the old-school "makes technology do interesting things" sense) with an interest in media technology and collaborative environments, particularly those that are Internet-based.
I just graduated from the University of Calgary with my BA Communications Studies and am now looking for ways to pay my rent while being creatively fulfilled. I'm currently working for Barry Commercial Real Estate and The Next Level Inc. as Marketing Manager and Web Developer (respectively) while volunteering at The Gauntlet (Where I spent two years as Production Editor and one as Opinions Editor) and CJSW with random web tech-related things. I'm also the Copy Editor at Treating Yourself Magazine where I help prepare articles for print, and Managing Editor at Hotbox Magazine, a collaborative web-based alternative culture discussion zine I started over two years ago.
Along with all this, I'm also a language file developer for the Joomla! Estate Agency project, head developer (with Keith Fagin) for the Canada420/Alberta420/Calgary420 networks, a Motion Notion photographer, web-developer and videographer, lead developer on Hotbox's Smokkr and Radio projects, and a freelance web developer taking contracts for anyone with the benjamins.
So, what is this site?
ændrew.com is my attempt to bring together all the random pieces of cyber identity I have into one useful place. I do a trillion different things online and it's useful to have them collected in one place, if only for my benefit.
In addition, I spend way too much time sending emails to people. I hope to eventually use this site as a centralized documentation resource, as well as a faster way to quickly serve documents to various clients. My resume's available here, as is my public PGP key.
